(Manggakhwa) – The Bookman lyrics [Hangeul, Romanization & Translation]

Finally we did it!! Manggakhwa‘s The Bookman is finally up! 🙂 Manggakhwa, meaning “Oblivion”, was started as one-man band by Yang Ju-Yeong, the vocalist, in 2003 and later joined by Kim Jae-Ik (guitar), Oh Yoon-Ho (bass), Lee Sang-Gon (drum) and Kim Hyeon-Seok (guest keyboardist). Their songs are coloured with blues and folk-music feeling and “The Bookman” is a fine example of their cool repertoire. I especially love the electric guitar jamming part in the song. I am so wanna drag myself into a bar with some drinks in my hand and just drown the night away ~

(Manggakhwa) – The Bookman

Nae yeong-hon-eun he-eo na-o-jil mot-hae, yeong-weon-hi

Nae ma-eum-eun he-eo na-o-jil mot-hae yeong-weon-hi

O-ggae-jin bulk-eun ib-sul-lo

Na-e-ge ib-eul mat-chu-gon us-eott-deon neo.

Neol dalm-a bulk-eo-jin ib-sul-lo

I-reoh-ge no-rae bu-reu-neun na

Nam-eun nal-deul, i a-peun ma-eum-eul eo-ddeoh-ge ha-na

Neo-wa na-neun. He-eo-jin geu nal-lo-bu-teo

U-rin neo-mu-na-do meol-eo-jyeo watt-go nae

Sa-rang-eul bi-ut-deon sa-ram-deul-i eo-ddeoh-ge ha-na.

Geu nal-eui u-ri mo-deun i-ya-gi-reul

It-hyeo-jyeo ga-myeon deo seul-peo-jyeo eo-ddeoh-ge.

Eo-ddeoh-ge ha-na. U-rin eo-ddeoh-ge ha-na

Translation

My soul can’t let it go, forever
My heart can’t let it go, forever
With broken red lips,
You kissed and smiled at me
You, who resemble red lips
Like this, I’m singing a song
The remaining days, how about this hurting heart?
You and I. We have broken up since that day
We have come so far away,
People mock at my love, what should I do?
The day we talk about everything
If I forget it, I become more sad, what should I do?
What should I do? What should we do?
